The series of author's poetry readings is organized by the Nedělní chvilka poezieCZ website and the Za školou club. In May, we will welcome Jan Štolba, Janele z Liků and Ladislav Puršl. Presented by Jonáš Hájek.

Jan Štolba (1957), poet, novelist, literary critic, renowned jazz saxophonist and creator of feature-length silent films (most recently First Touch of Winter, 2026). He studied for less than a year at the Pedagogical Faculty of Charles University, after completing his studies he worked as a storekeeper, nurse, orderly, sheet music copyist, stoker, postman, teacher in a special school and security guard. During the eighties and nineties, he played the saxophone in a number of Prague jazz, folk and rock ensembles (Krásné nové stroje, Mozart K., Jazzphonic Orchestra, Polydor Jazz Quartet, etc.). In 1988–1990, he lived in New York with an immigrant passport. So far, Jan Štolba's last published collection of poetry is the Hřebeny collection (2007), the last published book is the novel Unstoppable Day (2019).

Ladislav Puršl (1976), poet and editor (Revue Spolecnőci kristianů a Židů, Center for Biblical Studies, ETF UK, collection Logos), since 2004 has been working in the depository of the Collection of 19th Century Art in the National Gallery in Prague. He published the poetry collections Pámeť vody (2004), Mločí mapa (2008), Záznam (2010) and Různá nie (2023). She deals with the teachings of Vajrayana Buddhism and Dzogchen practices.

Janele z Liků (Jana Hradilová, 1984), poet and musician, the central figure of the Janele z Liků Poetic Music Society band. She comes from Přerov, she received her teaching education in Olomouc and Prague. She has published in many literary magazines and anthologies and won several literary prizes (Literary prize Vladimír Vokolek 2006, 2007 – 1st place in the category of poetry 19-24 years, Literary prize of the rector of Palacký University 2007, 2008, etc.). In 2018, together with the band, she released a compilation double-CD Z nor úhoru containing the records From old soaps and With dead things live theater. She published poetry collections Ze starých mýdel (2011) and Hryzla (2020). For the past few years, she has also been engaged in artistic photography, and has exhibited her work (e.g. at the Brno University Hospital and the Schrott Gallery). She does not operate what she studied. On his Facebook profile, he supplies random readers with his unpublished poetry and fragments from his almost endless autofictional prose Debžotka or Šuša.
