Pohádka ptačí

What are the birds talking about? What happened to the sparrow from Dejvice? How did birds come to know that they can fly?

The bird fairy tale is from the famous collection Nine fairy tales and one more by Josef Čapek as a binding from 1932. Karel Čapek is undoubtedly one of our most important personalities, and not only in the field of literature. Today, we lack such personalities who distinguish themselves against all "isms", highlight the beauty of the human spirit and at the same time can make fun of people. In his fairy tales, Čapek likes to fantasize; how and why something came into being and its "explanations" are imbued with an unmistakable gentle humor.
