About event
POINT OF FEW ★ album launch Peripheral People
ft. Allison Wheeler
support ★ Tour Guide Blonde (acoustic)
Fusion-jazz formation Point of Few will bring their second album Peripheral People to Kabinet MÚZ, to christen it for the first time just a few days after its release. Point of Few mix modern jazz with electronica and pop influences. The originally purely instrumental band included vocals for the first time on the album, and the American singer Allison Wheeler will perform with them as a guest at the baptism, who will support the Points with an acoustic version of her alt-pop band Tour Guide Blonde. The concert will be special also because it will be the penultimate concert of Point of Few in the original line-up!
The band has a significant footprint in Brno in the form of saxophonist Petr Smékal, and also because the album is released by Bivak Records, the festival's publisher JazzFestBrno. The album also features electronic artist Aid Kid and was produced by two prominent British producers, Robin Mullarkey (Jacob Collier, Quincy Jones, Jordan Rakei) and Eddie Stevens (Moloko, Jana Kirschner, Marie Puttnerová et al.).
The first video single from the album is already out on YouTube ★ https://youtu.be/eSMa8fuzV0o ★ more coming out November 22.
The first album was met with very favorable criticism not only in the Czech Republic, but also across Europe and in the United States and was nominated for the Anděl Award 2022 in the Jazz category.
