About event
For the first time in Germany, “Two Prosecutors” (2025) is a historical drama by Sergei Loznitsa, based on a short story by Georgy Demidov.
The action takes place in 1937, at the height of Stalin's repressions: a young prosecutor Alexander Kornev, played by Alexander Kuznetsov, tries to achieve justice in the case of an unjustly convicted man, but soon finds himself drawn into a deadly system of fear, corruption and denunciations. Alexander Filippenko and Anatoly Bely also played in the film.
The world premiere of the film took place on May 14, 2025 in the main competition program of the 78th Cannes Film Festival, where the film was awarded the François Chalet Prize.
BERLIN: After the screening there will be a discussion of the film with film critic Andrei Plakhov!
