About event

Come watch theatre like you have never seen before. Or will ever see again. The actors create the storylines, characters, and dialogue spontaneously on stage without a pre-written script.
For this new production, director Gael Doorneweerd-Perry embarks on an immersive journey into the far North.

POLAR NIGHTS
Winter is long, cold, and harsh in the far North, especially for polar explorers from the beginning of the 20th century.
This play tells the story of a full polar night with 3 explorers. For months, they live together in an igloo on the ice cap.
What happens to them, overwintering in the dark, cold, and isolated North Pole? We see their daily life, their comradery, their research, their struggles, their resourcefulness, and how to (barely) stay sane in the months-long darkness.
Are these researchers doing this out of a passion for unchartered territories, an obsession with being the first, or are they -frankly- a little mad?
Inspired by his residency in the Arctic Circle, Gael created this unscripted play to explore our relationship to isolation, the relationships we develop with our peers, and the ownership humanity has always felt over nature, even when we are doomed.
Polar Nights is supported by Treehouse NDSM.
Here is why our audience keeps coming back:
“Amazing and engaging shows that combine heartfelt moments with genuine laughter to create unique theater experiences” – Sarah G.
“A very intimate improvisation experience full of laughter, love and beautiful energy.” Phillipe B.
“Incredible performance, I could not believe it was an IMPROV play. Kudos to everyone, it was fantastic!” – Joana V.
