Poprask na laguně

Temperament, fights, washing machines, quarrels, separations and reconciliation - all this in a famous classic comedy from sunny Italy.

One of his most successful comedies, La baruffe chiozotte), was written by Carlo Goldoni in 1762. In his Memoirs, he notes about its creation: "In my youth I lived for some time in Chioggia as coadjutor to the chancellor. I always had enough to do with that numerous and restless population of fishermen, sailors, and women, who have no other place of assembly than the street. I became acquainted with their manners, their peculiar dialect, or their sleight of hand, I knew their merry letor and their cunning. I could therefore describe them how belongs." On Czech stages, this grateful comedy full of temperament, joy and worries of ordinary people from a fishing village celebrated considerable success: for example, in the 1960s, it was staged at the National Theater in Prague with Ladislav Pešek, and already twenty years ago, it was staged with Viktor Preiss and Petr Kostka on the stage of the Vinohradský Theater in Prague.
