We invite you to the second public meeting in front of the Art Promotion Fund (FPU) during the scheduled meeting of the FPU Council, which twice in a row did not have a quorum due to the absence of its members, nominated by the current leadership of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic.
Art and culture are the heart of our identity. Theatre, literature, music, visual arts and art education are also created thanks to the professional decisions of the FPU. Now, however, Slovak culture is in danger!
After fundamental changes by the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic:
❌ Expertise in commissions and in the FPU Council was replaced by political nominations.
❌ New members and female members The FPU councils ignore their duties and make the fund non-functional.
❌ Renowned experts are pushed out of decision-making processes, their expertise is replaced by ideology and vindictiveness.
💬 What does this mean?
Complete disintegration of the FPU and devastating consequences for Slovak art and culture.
❗ We demand:❗
➡️ Fair and transparent decision-making on public finances.
➡️ Return of expertise to commissions and the FPU Council
➡️ Protection of the fundamental pillars of Slovak culture.
