We invite you to a professional discussion on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the founding of Designum magazine with interesting guests! 🎤

Designum is a specialist magazine about design and related disciplines with a 30-year tradition. After the demise of the joint Czech-Slovak magazine Design Trend in 1993, the Slovak Design Center founded Designum, which is still published today. During its existence, a number of Slovak and foreign contributors contributed to the magazine. Several editorial teams took turns to update its structure, topics, issues and information from home and the world. The magazine underwent visual changes, almost a hundred Slovak graphic designers took part in it.

Does the design scene need its own magazine? What is its place in the context of culture, art and design in Slovakia? Will the printed medium become a rarity? Will it survive this digital era or should we fear its decline? Can we talk about social responsibility or sustainability in relation to publishing magazines?
