An impressive drama starring Aňa Geislerová opens an unresolved chapter in Czechoslovak history, when the possibility of having children was decided by the state.
Elegant doctor Ingrid (Aňa Geislerová) works in the mid-1980s in a remote district hospital. Gripped by an exhausting marriage and a stagnant career, she devotes most of her time to her patients. It brings children into the world and ends unwanted pregnancies. He also performs sterilizations on Romani women - without them fully understanding their consequences. A new friendship with the young and immediate paramedic Agatha makes Ingrid see things in a different light. Will she start questioning the rules she had followed indifferently up until then?
