About event
The introductory word of Pavel Piekar to the exhibition Lenka Štěpaníková
The life story and the artistic journey of Lenka Štěpaníková is instructive for us. It goes outside the established current paths, and that is why the results of her work are so convincing. Nor is it necessary to create without the established procedure of teaching the system of our art schools, although it is very difficult for all these creators to succeed. Assert itself in a system that recognizes and prefers significantly more of these graduates of these schools. We all rejoice in the fact that these works are our heritage. Of all these names, however, one is exceptional for me, and he is a Dutch painter and graphic artist Rembrandt van Rijn. Everyone, like him, was dealing with the depiction of light and darkness, everyone was painting human faces and characters. But he had a gift, since his youth and at the end of his life, this gift was escalated, to display a person with a degree of humanity and understanding that we still have the impression that their human stories, their joy, but also all the pains and woes of us come to life so that we can almost touch those faces and experience their fate immediately. For me it is an incredible degree of compassion, the gift that this genius was endowed and who worked out in his works completely. The basis is a strongly experienced Christian faith and the part that speaks of the oppressed and fate of persecuted characters with understanding and compassion. Because our lives are also associated with experiencing these feelings and that is why we are looking for these works in art that can lighten our affliction and pain, remind us that we do not have these feelings themselves, that it is the eternal fate of us people. At the same time, these themes of contemporary art are bypassed, so I have to highlight this location Lenka's work here. I'm not talking about her graphic technique, I'm not talking about performing here, I'm talking about the immediate work of her work. This is not even his own
for the third time, to be aiming to heaven
for the fourth, be indeterminate colors
and fifth, sing very quietly
