✨ After a year, the gates of the Vyšehrad underground will be opened to the public again as part of this year's Prague Museum Night, on June 13, 2026.
💬 Experience an unforgettable night at Vyšehrad and for a symbolic price discover the secrets hidden deep under the baroque walls. Get to know the mysterious underground, its history, legends and attractions. We will open for you three sections of historic corridors from the 17th century, which for centuries were used for the unobserved movement of the military garrison of the Vyšehrad fortress. Among other things, you will see the Gorlice Hall, the largest underground hall in historic Prague, where the original statues from the Charles Bridge are kept.
What awaits you during the Museum Night at Vyšehrad?
📍 Casemates to Gorlice
From the Brick Gate, you will walk through the historic corridor to the monumental Gorlice Hall – the largest underground hall in historic Prague, which was created by mistake during the construction of the fortress. Six original baroque sculptures from the Charles Bridge are exhibited here.
📍 Martinské casemates
The Martinské casemates will absorb you with their mysterious and mystical atmosphere. Underground corridors lit by candles will offer a unique experience and remind you of the time when soldiers protected the Vyšehrad fortress from enemies.
📍 Podolské casemates
Get to know the former anti-aircraft shelters of the SS infirmary in Podolí. The period equipment of the command room, the infirmary and other stations will transport you to the eventful period of the 20th century and present the lesser-known but completely fascinating history of Vyšehrad.
📍 Vyšehrad brats and legends
Special thematic tours of Vyšehrad brats and legends. In addition to the well-known legends about Libuš and Šemík, you will also hear lesser-known stories recorded by the writer Popelka Biliánová, who captured old Vyšehrad legends and the secrets of old Prague.
📍 Forgotten Church in the Walls
During the Museum Night, the former Church of St. John the Baptist, hidden right in the walls of Vyšehrad, where stone fragments of the baroque decoration of the Vyšehrad basilica are stored. In the area of the sacristy, a blacksmith's workshop with examples of coin minting and a thematic sales stand with handicrafts of the Historica Bohemica association will be prepared for visitors. Since April this year, it has been located in the Špička gate, which will also be open during the museum night.
🎟️ Single entrance fee to the Vyšehrad underground: CZK 100 (children under 6 free)
🎟️ Single entrance fee for a special tour of the Vyšehrad brat and legend: CZK 330 (the ticket price includes entry to the Vyšehrad underground and minting one's own coin in the forge).
🎟️ Entrance to the Church of St. John the Baptist and to the forge is free for everyone.
🎟️ Tickets can be purchased online or on site at the Vyšehrad Info Center and Cihelná brána.
🎟️ You can exchange your online ticket at the Cihelná brány box office, at the Vyšehrad Info Center or at the ticket office at the Info Center for a wristband that entitles you to enter the underground.
