About event
Matyáš Kracík speaks
The Prague metro is far from being a utilitarian transport building, but also a significant architectural and urban unit. Its artistic appearance in the 70s and 80s was created according to a thoughtful concept and generous stations were to represent the cultural and technical maturity of Czechoslovakia. After decades of operation, however, the original solution partially disappeared due to commercial use of vestibules. Fortunately, this has been changing recently and the professional and lay public also perceives the metro what important part of the architectural heritage from the second half of the twentieth century. The lecture will bring history, original architecture and monument potential of the Prague metro.
