39 YEARS OF THE PRAGUE SELECTION
THE PRAGUE SELECTION IS A LEGENDARY ROCK BAND.
In the years 1982-1986, it was banned by the socialist regime and was followed by a defamation campaign "New wave with old content", which characterized new wave music as a tool of ideological diversion. In addition to the cult album "Straka v hrsti", which spread throughout the country in a "samizdat" way, the Prague selection recorded other albums and film music during his tenure. He has a number of sold-out sports halls, foreign concerts and also the full-length autobiographical film "Pražákum je hej" to his credit. Worth mentioning is the "Adieu CA" concert on the occasion of the end of the occupation of the Czechoslovakia by the Soviet army, at which Frank Zappa was also a guest, a concert in Florida for Cuban refugees, or the 2012 concert tour, which saw a total of over 100,000 fans. The Prague selection still plays in its most popular composition.
