About event
We invite you to take a walk with Milan Kolcun, who will guide us through the area of the forgotten East of Czechoslovakia exhibition in Košice.
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Czechoslovak Republic, Košice decided to organize an exhibition in a large area, bordered by the current streets of Letná, Božena Nemcová and Komenského Park. In three spring months in 1938, they managed to ensure the planning bureaucracy, construction and improvement of the surroundings. In this way, several pavilions for the exhibition, which were called East of Czechoslovakia, were built. The East of Czechoslovakia exhibition was opened on July 16, 1938 and had to be extended due to the large number of visitors. The floor plan of the exhibition area and some pavilions remind the exhibition to this day.
The walk with Milan Kolcun is part of the accompanying program to the New Realism exhibition.
