About the ensemble:
The theater ensemble NA SKOK is celebrating five years since its first premiere, which was the production Matka on May 19, 2019. Since then, it has staged eight productions, five of which are still in the repertoire. The artistic troupe has many awards to its credit from all-Slovak career competitions and festivals, including individual awards for acting, direction and scenography. The dramaturgy of the repertoire is based on the artistic and personal growth of the ensemble and includes the works of Slovak and foreign greats. Theater artists present their work on their home stage, in Raslavice, as well as on various stages throughout Slovakia and abroad.
About the production:
In the production Why do women murder, we find ourselves in a humorous, but at the same time chilling a realistic world where ordinary village characters reveal their darkest desires and ambitions. The main character is Anna Dlhá, an inconspicuous woman from a small village who decides to transform her ordinary life into something more - at any cost. In the struggle for recognition, power and a place in the prestigious gardening association, she encounters hidden passions, manipulations and betrayals that lead her to murder. The story, which combines humor and dark irony, provides an interesting look at how far people are able to go in order to get what they dreamed of.
