At our third panel discussion in a row, we interview the Slovak artist Dávid Demjanovič. Dávid will answer frequently asked questions that seem to plague each of us. We will talk about his beginnings, ups and downs, what his journey as an artist was and is like.
Dávid Demjanovič was born in 1985, he graduated from the VŠVU in Bratislava in the intermedia studio under the direction of Anton Čierne. Demjanovič uses a wide range of materials and techniques in his work. From pyrography, drawing and ceramics, to concrete, wood, bronze, performance and fragrance. The author cites childhood in the village, Greek mythology, a book about Michelangelo and Kawasaki Ninja as his main sources of inspiration. He is a graduate of the Spatial Communications Studio + Prof. Anton Čierne at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. In the years 2009-2023, he was one half of the artistic duo Mitríková / Demjanovič. Currently, he works pedagogically at the Department of Sculpture, Object, Installation at VŠVU.
