Přednáška - Adam Štěch: Chandigarh – Sen o dokonalém městě

Winternitz's villa brings a lecture by Adam Štěch Chandigarh: A dream of a perfect city - modernist utopia Le Corbusiera. The lecture is part of the exhibition of the same name, which takes place in the Winternitz villa and you will have the opportunity to see it as part of the lecture. The lecture brings authorial photographs and texts of curator Adam Štěch, who personally documented not only the famous buildings of brutalism, but also the contemporary life of this unique architectural vision. It documents both the overall concept of the city and its key architectural landmarks. In addition to the main concept and a number of important public and private buildings, architects also designed a representative government area that Le Corbusier conceived as an urban celebration of democracy. Around the large public space is a pillar of political power - the building of the Main Court, the building of the parliament and the secretariat building. In 2016, Capitol was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. "Chandigarh is a unique urban act that is unprecedented in the world. The city was built on a green meadow and for Le Corbusiera it was an ideal opportunity to apply its ideas about a modern democratic city to a huge extent."
