About event
The Communist coup in 1948 not only affected the political direction of Czechoslovakia, but also caused the adoption of artistic feeling in the spirit of socialist realism. This reform of aesthetic feeling and the overall representation also concerned changes in Faleristic, Heraldry and Vexillology, which was reflected in insignia, orders, medals, but also on combat flags or buildings, directly related to the armed forces.
The lecture will provide the transformation of Czechoslovak military symbolism in the basic contours and outline its development with an emphasis on the period of the 1950s, including small overlaps into later decades. Štěpán Frank
