About event
Centrum Periférií is a documentary film by Matej Baník about the European Slam Poetry Championships in Košice 2024, which mainly focuses on the promotion of the genre itself, the presentation of artists from 32 European countries, but also on Košice's cultural infrastructure and the current state of Slovak culture.
In the almost hour-long documentary, you will see a lot of interviews, slams and opinions on what slam poetry actually is, what European culture is and why it is important.
The Košice pre-premiere of this film is intended primarily for professionals, but also for the general public from the metropolis of the East. In addition to the film itself, you can look forward to a discussion with the film's director, Matej Baník, as well as the organizers of the European Championships, Katarína Sabolová and Tomáš Strak.
An important part of the pre-premiere is also a reading from the forthcoming book of essays 'Slap or Slam' by Lenka Šafránová, which reflects the texts that were heard at the European Championships, as well as the discussion itself with the author of this future publications.
We look forward to seeing you!
