We invite you to the Prague bookstore ArtMap to the presentation of Kristina Láníková's books associated with the opening of her work series Hands with Tags.
by placing them. The book Healing (NAVu, 2024) contains preparatory sketches, photographs of objects, a cycle of manuscript “apologies” and assemblage. Individual series intentionally work with a limited number of motifs and materials used, combine outlines of patches or packaging from drugs, skin cuts, dosage blisters, small medical and office supplies, notebooks. The author methodically monitors a topic that is considered intimate, and gives him a economical, repetitive, coded expression. He thus carries the vulnerability to which he/she presents it as a common restriction. Wallpaper Kristina Láníková will present a fragment from the hand series with tags (2024), which is part of the above -mentioned author's book. In the photo we see the detail of the hand marked with a tag with the inscription "Always Ill", whose unrelated part has the shape of a spaced box from one of the drugs. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. She exhibited independently and group, including in the Gallery Cursor, Gallery Sam83, Gallery of the Capital City of Prague, the House of Arts of the City of Brno or the AVU Gallery. The book has published a collection of the dash in the body (2015), the short history of hurting (2017), reflections on the pronouns (2020) and Puma M (2023). Occasionally he publishes in the fortnight of A2. m. Prague, Prague 1 and st. m. Brno.
