In our publishing house, we have felt for a long time that the ability to conduct meaningful, peaceful conversations is disappearing in Slovakia. And words like dialogue, connection and vulnerability are becoming rare these days. The new book of deep conversations, which we together called Hābkovory, is our attempt to restore them.
As the author points out - Hābkovory is not "Ivy Mrvova's book" - it is a joint creation of all the people addressed, who in time , when strength in Slovakia is measured by shouting and ego, they were not afraid to show their vulnerability. And the real power hidden in it.
In deep interviews with 10 personalities from Slovakia, we talk about the events that shaped them anew. It is a book of questions that are not normally asked and answers that perhaps even the respondents themselves would not expect - even though we all need to ask them from time to time - what does it actually mean to be human? Where are we heading and what is leading us?
