Director: Viera Čákanyová
Country: Czech Republic, Slovakia
Year of production: 2023 / Length: 78 min.

Viera Čákanyová continues her previous films FREM and Bílá na bílé and completes an imaginary trilogy in which he deals with loneliness, climate change and modern technologies. In Notes from the Eremocén, he conducts a dialogue with his virtual future self in an attempt to understand where the decisions made by the current generation may lead. The formally unique film straddles the boundary between experimental essay and documentary science fiction, and in its form demonstrates the tension between past, present and future as a transition between analog and digital. It absorbs the topic of the constantly deteriorating state of the environment as well as the extremely topical issue of artificial intelligence, which is connected to the depersonalization of the society in which we live. And he asks - what will the future of our planet and human interactions look like?
