About event
Director: Marta Kovářová
Country: Czech Republic, Slovakia
Year of production: 2023 / Duration: 77 min.

Musician Marta, daughter of materials physicist Jiří, decided that his the idea of a global reduction in the amount of carbon emissions will not remain only in domestic kitchen debates. The film exposes the complexity of the relationship between father and daughter, who, while searching for a way to fulfill an ecological dream, are also looking for a way to each other. Frustration from powerlessness and repeated failure is further exacerbated by Jiří's complicated nature and his lack of communication skills. However, the complications are recast in the film to the point of a kind of self-parody, and the songs that Marta composes are similarly light-hearted. A story about a modern quixotic endeavor and about the complexity of promoting an individual's idea in a machine that seems to be the very environment of environmental activism.
