Why I feel like boy (2019, dir. Kateř Tureček) Ben is a 16-year-old trans man who refuses to hide his identity under the pressure of society. He escapes to the online world with his true feelings and feels truly happy, for example, when he imagines his possible future with the help of keying technology. The picture indirectly captures the (mis)understanding and (mis)acceptance he encounters at school, with his own family and the entire society that surrounds him. The reality of Ben's identity affects the whole family. An intimate portrait of a modest family in a difficult situation in a small village somewhere in the southern Highlands. (FamuFest) llllllIIIIl (2017, dir. Petr Salaba) The title of the film can be perceived as an anti-captcha, a text that is easy to read by a machine, but difficult to understand for a human. The film reflects on the problem of the autocracy of machines in a documentary-essay form. Apocalyptic visions inspired by the movie Terminator are projected here into the reality of destructive protests against the G20 summit, the catalyst, means and result of which are statistical analyzes of behavioral models carried out through the computers and phones in our pockets. A collage of original footage, annotated graphs and internet junk. Please prepare your smartphone to watch the movie in full. "This text can have a maximum of 200 characters. That's only 60 characters more than Donald Trump's tweet." P. Salaba (MFDF Ji.hlava) O-hair (2019, dir. Josefina Lubojacki) Why we have hair, what it's for, what it's made of and when we stopped having it to like A hybrid audiovisual essay with performative moments looks at the problem of hair growth from different perspectives. The elements of the instructional film based on facts and macroscopic details are interspersed with staged scenes with a high degree of stylization. (MFDF Ji.hlava) In the name of the police, get dressed! (2021, d. Mikoláš Arsenjev) Studio exercise conceived as a stylized reconstruction of the Extinction Rebellion protest action that took place in September 2020 in Zara on Na Příkopě Street in Prague, and which unexpectedly got out of hand. By combining a simulated action and the authentic testimony of a twenty-year-old girl, the film tries to approximate the mental state that activists experience in extreme moments of "direct action".
