In the Second World War, the Roma were most often portrayed as victims of the Holocaust, and some of them fought the Nazis with guns in hand. In the film, the director embarks on her own search for the fate of Roma partisans in Czechoslovakia, inspired by the story of her great-grandfather - partisan Ján Lack. The motivation for making the film thus becomes the reminder of a forgotten chapter of history and the preservation of the truth about her great-grandfather, which can thus be presented to a wider public. During the research and filming itself, he encounters many obstacles, the lack of interest of the relevant institutions and deep-rooted prejudices against his ethnicity. The documentary shows in an entertaining way, partially drawing on the style of adventure tales, how difficult and at the same time important it is nowadays to remember the deeds of forgotten Roma heroes.
