About event
📣 We invite you to the next screening of Wim Wenders' films, which we bring to you in cooperation with the Goethe Institute and the Wim Wenders Foundation on the occasion of the director's 80th birthday.
🎞️ Individual films in chronological order will present the rich work of the German film giant. We continue with the film BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB from 1999.
When Ry Cooder gathered the legends of Cuban jazz in an unprecedented collaboration project, the Buena Vista Social Club was born. Wim Wenders creates documentary profiles of unique musicians and captures their experiences playing in Cuba and abroad, and finally in New York's Carnegie Hall. With his film, he helped immortalize the music of even now well-known musicians who lived on the edge of poverty.
