About event
The guided tour is brought to you free of charge by CORWIN, a developer focused on high-quality and sustainable architecture — on three dates in April and on six dates during the Palma LIVE 2026 event.
Registration is mandatory due to the limited number of participants.
Račianska ulica is one of the most interesting urban axes of Bratislava - it is a place where the distinctive industrial past naturally blends with the present transforming it into a modern urban district. During the tour, we will follow the tracks of transport, factories, schools, boarding schools and new projects, which today shape its future form.
We will start at Námestí Biely kríž, opposite the Palma area, which we will pay attention to - once an important industrial enterprise, today a symbol of the transformation of a brownfield into a lively urban zone. We will remind you of Nová Cvernovka, which continues the textile tradition and today pulsates with culture and community life. On the way, we will pass the Business Academy, a sample of the school architecture of its time, we will stop at Mladá gard, an iconic dormitory complex, and we will not miss the caverns that reveal the lesser-known military past of the area.
During your wanderings, you will discover the development of this part of the city - from its historical roots through the period of industrial boom to today's urban changes and the daily life of its inhabitants. We will take a closer look at the stories of personalities such as Alfred Nobel, Vladimír Dedeček, Vladimír Karfík and Emil Belluš, and remember important buildings, such as Dynamitka and Stollwerck, through historical photographs. We will also touch on key events of the 19th and 20th centuries, including the development of transport, which fundamentally shaped this part of Bratislava.
Our tour ends at the modern residential complex GUTHAUS, which combines historical industrial heritage with innovative architecture from the AllesWirdGut studio. This project symbolizes the transformation of Račianská into an attractive urban zone.
Discover the surroundings of Palma with Bratislava walks as a space full of contrasts, a place where the past still speaks and the future is just emerging.
