🐕🦺 Pachová track
(dir. Zuzana Piussi, Czech/Slovakia, 2024, 78 min.) They strive to restore their process. Working with odor trail - an invisible set of traces of the presence of a person in a certain place that can only recognize a "impartial" dog - at first glance brings hope that there is a method that generates "truth" at the level of facts and evidence. However, the problem arose when the Czech judiciary and the police apparatus did not critically integrated this method into practice of justice after 1989 and promoted it to the level of key evidence. In other words, if the smell trace of the suspect is marked as positive, it is enough to condemn - without further evidence or even other evidence. Why are there no cases of re -opening dubious judgments, although the scientific capacity is rightly doubted about the odor trace method? How is it possible that the Czech Republic is a global premier in the number of murders resolved and far out the advanced western countries?
