About event

Dark clouds over southern Sweden - Maya Topelius' most personal case
The final part of the unique Swedish crime series.

The body of a journalist is discovered in the castle ruins of Borgholm on Öland - professionally executed. It is the second death of this kind. Detective inspector Maya Topelius and her colleague Pär travel to the small port town of Kalmar to investigate on site. Shortly afterwards, another murder occurs. The trail leads deep into the depths of rural right-wing extremism. Confronted with repressed trauma, the case becomes personal. Can she withstand this strain or will it break?

Sandra Åslund worked as a make-up artist at theaters and opera houses across Germany for many years. She has been writing crime novels since 2016. She moved from Berlin to southern Sweden with her Swedish husband and their daughter.

Viktor Åslund is a Swedish pianist, conductor and composer with decades of international experience. After “Der Steppenwolf” and “Value Creation”, his third opera composition “Madita” will premiere in Linz in December.
