About event
Come to the screening of the documentary Grand Prize - a subtle but powerful portrait of the queer community in Croatia.
In Croatia, where conservatism still persists, the ballroom scene offers a refuge for LGBTI+ performers. Valentina, a talented voguer and veteran of the scene, balances daily demands and peer pressure, while young trans man Teo searches for community and acceptance. She finds both in Valentine – she accompanies him through his transition and initiates him into the ballroom, he slowly opens his heart to her, which she has kept at bay for a long time. As their relationship deepens, they begin to dream of a future together - in a country where being "different" is still brave.
The screening was created thanks to the international project of alternative distribution of documentary films KineDok. You can find more about them at www.kinedok.net/sk
🆓 Admission to the screening is free.
