About event
On the occasion of the editing and photography challenge Czechoslovakia on the Czech Wikipedia, there will be a discussion about how Wikipedia rewrites history. The discussion is sponsored by the popular podcast Rewrite the history and will be attended by historians Martin Groman and Michal Stehlík and Wikipedian, member of Wikimedia CR and historian Michal Louč.
What role does Wikipedia play in the perception of Czechoslovak history and history in general? Does it rewrite or co-shape our historical memory? Everyone has the opportunity to contribute to Wikipedia and everyone has unlimited access to the information stored on it, is this fact somehow essential from the point of view of historiography? What role do encyclopedias in general play in the creation of historical memory?
