Many activists say that slight reforms and negotiations are no longer enough - fossil corporations, banks and governments that work with them are consciously choosing to continue to destroy climate and keep repressive modes. We know many historical and current examples of movements using organized civil disobedience and direct action to achieve fundamental social changes. What are the concrete experience of movements that use civil disobedience to strategic interference in the system operation? We will learn about Code Rouge, a Belgian initiative that opposed the fossil industry by mass blockages of refineries. We will also examine other cases of targeted direct action - from occupation of public institutions to violating the financial flows of companies benefiting from war and occupation. Slovak.
