About event
We cordially invite you to 3 travel presentations Cesta necestu in Prešov. To begin with, Matej will introduce you to the Iraqi holidays, which only a few people have been to so far. In the second presentation, you will get to know the most beautiful mountains of Japan with Miša, and at the end, Luboš will tell you about the first crossing of a Slovak by a 2,828-kilometer route through the Alps - Via Alpina.
18:10 Matej Peluha - Iraqi holidays of Ashura and Newroz
One of the most overlooked and fascinating countries in the world, Iraq opens to tourists despite political instability with open arms and the friendliest people in the world. Matej focuses on this country professionally and guides tours here on his own without a local guide. Hear the stories of a man who has been to the world's bloodiest Ashura holiday three times, on which he also filmed a documentary film. Over 5,000,000 people flock to a city the size of Bratislava in one day, and for a few days you find yourself living in a documentary film with the most incredible cultural atmosphere. The climax is group self-torture with machetes and whips. In the spring, a milder holiday called Newroz also takes place in the northern part of Iraq. Kurds celebrate their New Year with burning torches on the surrounding hills with fireworks in the background. Matej will also show you other corners of Iraq, after all, this country is very rich in ancient Mesopotamian history as well as war history with destroyed cities.
19:15 Michal Knitl – The most beautiful mountains of Japan
We will start the journey in the very north of Japan, on the small island of Rishiri, from where, after climbing the volcano, we get to know Hokkaido, which is the wildest and least populated of the large Japanese islands island. Subsequently, we will move through Honshu with the Japanese Alps and Kyushu with hot springs to the small island of Yakushima with a cedar forest, from where we will return to Osaka. I tried to spend as much time as possible in nature, and during the presentation you will learn about the most beautiful of the 18 hikes and 330 kilometers in the mountains that I covered during two months.
20:20 break
< br/>20:35 Ľuboš Pribila – Via Alpina, 2828 km on foot from Trieste to Monaco, through 8 Alpine countries

The journey led through 8 Alpine countries, through Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Italy, France and ended in Monaco.
