About event
D 2025 * Director: Leis Bagdach
With: Kostja Ullmann, Safinaz Sattar, Tom Lass, Verena Altenberger, Ursula Werner and others * 99 min. FSK 12
The Berlin pop star Yak (38), plagued by a crisis of meaning at the peak of his career, receives surprising news from his almost forgotten father. He, who returned headlong to his home country of Syria over 30 years ago, is in a coma in a Cologne hospital; and brought Yak a surprise: a 15-year-old half-sister named Latifa, who only speaks Arabic. Involuntarily united, the siblings embark on an odyssey across Germany. The journey becomes a search for one's own roots, the meaning of (folk) music; and the answer to the question of all questions: what exactly is home? (rental)
