Presentation of archives. Why, where, when and how to be seen?
Event date: 12/12/2024 from 10-13:30
Venue: meeting room in the National Archives on Chodovec
Capacity: 60 people
Price: ČAS members CZK 150, non-ČAS members CZK 250
All in the archives we know why it is important to take care of archives. Every day, we work to ensure that the materials are not only properly stored and described, but also accessible. Does the public know about all this? And should she know? In the morning theoretical part, we will get to know the basics of archive promotion. We will show why it is important to know the target group, introduce possible promotional means and tools and discuss their pros and cons. We will also delve into the basics of creating a promotional strategy. In the afternoon, we will transform the theory into practice. The workshop does not assume any knowledge, only an interest in the issue of online and offline presentation of archives.
This workshop is a continuation of the section of the same name, which was held at the archive conference in Pardubice in 2023, and we assume that we will organize another one next year two workshops that will focus on thinking through the creation of presentation strategies and their application. The aim of the Czech Archive Society is to help archives with their promotion, including the organization of the International Day of Archives.
