About event
We invite you to a meeting with Evgenia Nekrasova and the presentation of her book “Uditsa Kholodova”. Young correspondent Dmitry Kholodov died at work from a booby trap explosion on October 17, 1994. This book is a personal project of the writer Evgenia Nekrasova, who grew up in the same city as Kholodov and studied at the same school as him. She returns to the chronicles of the nineties, communicates with Dmitry’s colleagues and discusses how the figure of Kholodov influenced her understanding of freedom.
“Kholodov Street” is a documentary illustrated novel of a generation about hope, disappointment and the courage to write openly.
Evgenia Nekrasova is a writer, co-founder of the “School of Literary Practices”. For the prose cycle “Unhappy Moscow” she received the Lyceum Prize in 2017. In 2018–2023, in addition to the novel “Kalechina-Malechina,” Nekrasova published three collections of stories: “To the Sisters. About those who will suffer”, “House love” and “Zolotinka”. For the novel “Skin,” the author received the “Wanderer/NOS” award in 2022. Nekrasova's books include a variety of mythological motifs, and often talk about social problems in current reality. Performances based on the writer's texts are staged in various Russian theaters.
