We invite you to the presentation of Sergei Kuznetsov’s new book “Moss’s Meat Grinder”, published in the artistic line of the Meduza publishing house.
The year is 2030, the world has recently experienced the covid epidemic, but Russia’s invasion of Ukraine did not happen in 2022. A young data analyst is doing research for an international IT corporation and notices a strange correlation between the deaths of strangers in different parts of the world. As we plunge into the novel, we gradually understand the connections between a newlyweds from France, a marine from the United States, a flight attendant from Spain, a Croatian veteran and a Serbian contemporary artist. Meanwhile, dozens of characters are looking for answers to difficult questions: how long does it take for the wounds inflicted by war to heal, why is it easier to call yourself guilty than to take responsibility, and how far can a feeling of guilt take you?
A chemist by training, Sergei Kuznetsov has been professionally engaged in journalism and literature since the 1990s. He translated Stephen King and Susan Sontag, wrote a monograph on Brodsky’s poetics, a non-fiction book on the history of the Russian Internet, Groping the Elephant, and more than a dozen fiction novels that at various times were nominated for the National Bestseller, Russian Booker, Big Book, and New Horizons awards. “Moss’s Meat Grinder” is a kind of completion of the author’s trilogy by Sergei Kuznetsov, which began with the novels “Round Dance of Water” (2010) and “Kaleidoscope. Consumables" (2016).
