How does the environment influence us when creating? During the two-day workshop with the director and performer Mária Piatriková, you can try out how your behavior, mood and ideas affect different spaces.
During the workshop we will explore several locations in the immediate vicinity of the Regional Education Center. We will focus on the potential of ordinary places and look for a way to see them in a new way. We will try out site-specific events and we will also introduce several artists who recorded their performances on video or photo. We will document our creative search and, together with the visual artist Stanislav Piatrik, we will create a series of photographs at the end.
The workshop is inspired by the experimental staging of the K Jaskyň Theater, which arose out of a fascination with the space of rock dwellings in Lišov. The creative team spent 4 intensive days at this location, where they filmed performative events and then transferred the video material to the theater premises. From his experience in Lišov, he abstracted character archetypes, a specific video projection and the structure of the performance on the border between film and live performance.
A condition is to attend both days of the workshop.
