Secrets of Ancient Egypt
Art suburban camp for children aged 5-14
Let's go together into the world of ancient Egypt - among the pyramids, hieroglyphs, gods and stories that still inspire today. During the suburban art camp, children will discover this ancient civilization through drawing, painting, working with materials and spatial creation.
Each day will offer a different theme and a different way of expression. Children will learn about Egyptian depictions of figures, ornaments and symbols and let them guide them to their own creations. We work at a leisurely pace, with an emphasis on the process, the joy of discovery and an individual approach.
Every day of the camp is carried in the spirit of discovery and creation. We will tell stories about ancient Egypt, look at its art and be inspired by it for our own creative work. Children will gradually try drawing, painting, working with space and various materials.
At the beginning of the week, we will get to know the world of pyramids and hieroglyphs. Children will create their own characters, learn the basics of Egyptian character depiction and start with the first drawings and three-dimensional objects. We will gradually get to the stories of gods, animals and temples, which will be reflected in paintings, collages and simple modeling.
In the following days, we will focus on life around the Nile River – nature, the rhythm of the day, colors and ornaments. We will work with textiles, paper and natural materials and look for connections between story, image and shape. Each child has space to create at their own pace and in their own way.
At the end of the week, we will prepare a small exhibition of the created works together. The opening is a natural end to the whole week and an opportunity to share the joy of creation with parents and loved ones.
The camp is conducted in a supportive and friendly atmosphere. It's not about the performance or the finished result, but about the journey - the time spent creating, focusing and sharing. We will end the week with a small exhibition of work, to which parents and relatives are welcome.
