About event
Some places in the world may be too far. They hide behind high mountains. Or they are too foreign. In short - we don't know them. The three countries of the South Caucasus, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, are definitely among them. And it's a shame, because getting to know their uniqueness, history and culture is definitely worth it.
📚 That's why we invite you to a discussion with Polish reporter Wojciech Górecki, author of the book A Toast to the Ancestors, which will be published soon.
🕵️♂️ Górecki is the most professional guide. He draws on his many years of experience with this region, connecting historical facts, current politics and culture with his own travel experiences in an original way.
At the discussion you will learn, for example:
🟠 how Europe meets Asia in the South Caucasus and what this does to the identity of the local people,
🟠 where the constant smoldering conflicts originate and what problems in the region are still caused by the legacy of the Soviet Union or the politics of contemporary Russia,
🟠 what Caucasian rituals, proverbial toasts and deep respect for ancestors reveal to us about their mentality.
Come and listen to the story of a person who has crossed the Caucasus and understands it like few people in Europe.
ADMISSION: Free
The event is co-financed by the European Union and supported by the FPU.
