"What do we have to change to be accepted? Do we have to? It is a new author's opera from the workshop of Run Operun. The opera plunges into the story of a silent woman in the shadow of a mighty family. Inspired by real events around Rosemary Kennedy - President's sister J. F. Kennedy, who was subjected to forced lobotomy - reveals dark layers of social pressure, mental health and female autonomy.
🫂 Intimate one -act for three singers plays a strong emotional image, not torn into a chronological narrative, but laminated as an inner landscape of pain, anxiety, but also hope and finding reconciliation. The musical language of the compositional duo Dario Kukal Moiseev and Natalia Pleváková combines classical and electronic music, creating contemporary, live sound space.
Director and librettist Bára Viceníková leads the work towards an inner experience that still resonates with universal questions. Opera Why is that? It connects historical inspiration with the urgent present. It is not only a testimony of one forgotten life, but above all an invitation to listening - those who remained unheard of. Skalický
