About event

We invite you to a guided tour of the Church of St. Jakub in Brno. Thanks to a new multimedia exhibition, this late Gothic church is also accessible to the public in a completely unconventional way. The tour will take you not only to the temple area itself, but also to previously inaccessible parts such as the treasury, the church trusses and the tower with the two largest bells. You will learn more about the digitization of the spaces, which made it possible to create virtual models, as well as about the fascinating history of this Gothic building. Come and see the connection between cultural heritage and modern technology. Architect Jan Machát from VISUALOVE, who is the co-author of the multimedia exposition, interactive installations and digital presentations, will guide us through the walk. Next, the architect Petr Múčka, the author of the entire reconstruction. You can look forward to a themed Advent projection.

Please note that the walk is more challenging - much of the route follows the original 16th century staircase, and the tower is followed by narrow and steep wooden steps. Please consider your participation carefully. Due to these conditions, the capacity of the walk is limited. Thank you for your understanding.

Registration for the walk will take place on December 3 at 10:00 a.m. We will share the link to the registration form directly in the discussion of this event. The event is free. The capacity of the walk is 25 people.
