Procházka: Setkání architektury s uměním

The depository of the Moravian Gallery in Řečkovice in Brno presents a modern storage space for art collections and at the same time an architecturally exceptional building linking functionality with the openness of the public. This is where our joint steps will lead during the April walk for architecture. The event will take place on Thursday 3rd April at 16.30. The guide will be co -author of the building Jozef Kubín. The capacity is limited to 60 people. Two persons can be registered to one e -mail address. Reinforced concrete structure that meets high requirements for climatic stability, safety and variable load capacity. This ensures optimal environment for preserving rare exhibits and flexible use of space for professional and educational activities. The monolite of the spatially curved staircase connects individual floors and becomes a visual center of the whole building. The minimalist design and the functional solution of the depository reflects the shift of museology towards openness and accessibility. This is also confirmed by the possibility of regulated visits, where it is possible to look into the daily work of experts, watch digitization, restoration and conservation of works of art. Thus, the gallery wants to define the relationship between art, its preservation and the public.
