The lecture will cover the history of the relationship between the media and politics in a democratic system, the tabloidization of the media and the lowering of standards of political reporting, the influence of social media and their role in contemporary political discourse.
Prof Dr. hab. Dorota Piontek is the head of the Department of Social Communication at the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań. For two terms - member of the Management Board of the Polish Society of Social Communication, head of the Political Communication Section. Manager/contractor in Polish and international research projects, including: tabloidization of political discourse, populist political communication, political expert culture, relations between politics and popular culture.
