Forest Voice/New Film by director Zuzana Piussi
In the voice of the forest we hear everything we did not want to hear. The forest is raised by a saw. At least that's how they still teach it at forestry schools. But what does it actually need a healthy forest? Foresters and hunters perceive the forest as an agricultural commodity and nature as something that needs to be constantly regulated and managed. On the other hand, there are conservationists - proponents of non -intervention who believe that the forest can handle even without us. And is a person's right to use natural resources in your area superior to the right of a bear to do the same? The Slovak forests have become a battlefield, but also a surrogate problem of social conflict, which is much deeper than it seems. Here you will see him during the festival Word or music on Sunday 1.6. at 12h00 - The film will be presented by Zuzana Piusii. Modes: Verona Hajdučíková. Its work brings a bold and original view of phenomena and events in society. In his films he focuses on problematic phenomena of Slovak and Czech society or national identity
(fragile identity). For the film's third power, she threatened up to two years in prison and a fine of thirty thousand euros. In 2013 she was awarded the moral award of the Fites for creative and civic courage. It themes the general aspects of the struggle of communities with mining intentions. On its important document, the stolen state (2019) uncovering the mechanisms of the cases and deficits of democracy in the post -socialist block followed the film (2021) on the judicial crisis in Slovakia. In 2022 she shot her feature feature
debut inspired by reality to be fooled.
