About event
We cordially invite all those interested to the screening of the documentary film STEP AND FROST, which will take place on Monday, October 21, from 4:00 p.m. in classroom no. 50 (Faculty of Education, Poříčí 9). Together with the organizers, we will follow in the footsteps of the camps in Kazakhstan.
Soviet terror left an indelible mark on today's Kazakhstan. Over a million Kazakhs died as a result of the famine, and millions more were deported to the inhospitable steppes there from the whole of the former Soviet Union. Hundreds of Czechs and citizens of Czechoslovakia were also victims of these repressions. The remains of the Gulag camps are still preserved today in the magical Kazakh landscape and in the memory of local residents. An expedition by the Gulag.cz team set out to map their tracks, thanks to which this chilling testimony of dark Soviet history was created, framed by an adventurous journey across a merciless winter landscape.
You can also read information about the documentary on the official website: https://www.expedicekazachstan.cz/cs
We look forward to your participation !
