About event
🇵🇱 🇪🇺 On the occasion of the current Polish Presidency in the EU Council, we will reflect the judge under pressure 🇵🇱 🇪🇺
📽️ Polish government conducted by the conservative party law and justice has systematically weakened the independence of the courts and attacks the essence of one of the three pillars of democracy. But some judges do not want to give up their independence.
📽️ Long -term pressure on the courts has been strongly criticizing the European Union. The judiciary's reform is to be controlled by the courts. Judges who do not go on the government are portrayed as elitaries or straight enemies of Poland face bullying in the form of threats and disciplinary proceedings. Nevertheless, a large proportion of Polish judges refuse to give up, continue to defend the independence of law and, through demonstrations, lectures and courses, seek to activate the public and European colleagues. One of the main faces of the protest movement is Judge Igor Tuleya, who refreshes the difficult situation with his black humor. How long, however, can he resist coercion with colleagues?
