About event
8 years ago, Martin Kyšperský believed in my songs and helped them out. Kruhy's debut album was released with a lot of guests in Martin's arrangements. The album received positive reviews and in 2017 Prune was listed among the 50 hopes of Czech music by Headliner magazine.
But the new album had to wait. We recorded half of the songs already in 2016 in a small home studio together with Christoffer Strandh, who played trumpet for me at Kruzy. That was just the tip of the iceberg. I learned that he is a great multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, but also a humble and hardworking person who gives his all and more to his music. At that time, I decided internally that Chris is the right person with whom I would like to record the new album. But then life, family, children, distance, covid threw a pitchfork into it. So here we are now, 8 years later. And on the 27th of November there is the launch of a new album!
Although the core of the songs has existed for a long time and others have been added during the pandemic, something unites them. They take place in a similar element and season - fire and autumn. It was not conceptually intended. Just trying to record an album that is warm, a companion to the cold and dry autumn days. They are united by the desire to warm themselves by the fire, whether it be the real one, crackling, sparkling, or the metaphorical one, a space of understanding and affection between two people, a warm meeting with a crazy pack of friends. Homesickness. So it makes a lot of sense that the working title of the album eventually became the official title - Fire.
We will play all 12 songs from the Fire album from start to finish together with Christoffer Strandh in the beautiful Pomezí space, where we recorded the piano. We will be accompanied by several guests, which I will gradually publish. Samples of the songs flash in the trailer on Donio, where you can currently pre-order the album:
