About event
A taste of Piri Piri!
DVA is returning to the concert stages and will christen their long-awaited new record called Piri Piri at the Acropolis Palace . Polish rapper and producer Piernikowski will open the evening.
DVA - Jan Kratochvíl and Barbora Ungerová. TWO musical elements that have been moving around the music world for 18 years. During that time, the couple gained recognition not only in the Czech Republic, but also internationally. It transcends the boundaries of established musical genres and literally speaks its own language. And even though only TWO can really understand the lyrics, they have captivated audiences around the world. Their songs have hundreds of thousands of listens on streaming platforms and have been featured in award-winning video games. For the soundtrack to the game Botanicula, they won the Excellence in Audio Award IGF in San Francisco, the "game Oscar". However, they also have purely musical awards, for example the Anděl for their second consecutive recording HU from 2010. In 2023, the band returned to playing live and started working on their fourth studio album. Tim Brinkhurst, a collaborator of the British band Young Fathers, participated in the production of the new Piri Piri. The expected album will be released on September 13, and already on October 16, DVA will christen it with special guests at Akropolis Palace.
Piernikowski – Special guest who will open the evening and present the new album Beyond Echo of Time's. Robert Piernikowski is a rapper and producer who has also found recognition in the punk rock and electronic scene. In addition to his native Poland, his concerts are also successful in the Czech Republic. He has performed at leading festivals such as Primavera in Barcelona or Unsound in New York. On the previous album The best of moje ghetto, for example, the Polish musician Brodka collaborated with him. Now, as part of the Pulz series, Piernikowski will also play tracks from the new experimental album, which was released this April.
Tim Brinkhurst - Also known as Timothy London (1960, Essex), is a British producer, songwriter, manager and writer who has been active since the post-punk era of the late 1970s and early 1980s. He released eight albums with his pop group "Soho", which hit the charts thanks to the rave wave of the late eighties. With Soho, he got to know not only the pleasant but also the dark side of the music business, which is why he decided to go independent in his next career. After moving to Scotland after 2000, he produces and composes music for other artists, releases music under the label Soulpunk and writes books. Among other things, he discovered the trio "Young Fathers" for the world, on whose first five albums he participated as a producer and co-writer.
Tim produced the Piri Piri album of the group DVA and will finish the evening exclusively at the Acropolis with his DJ set on a small stage.
Music columnist and Radio 1 presenter Vojtěch Tkáč is behind the dramaturgy of the Pulz series at Akropolis Palace. The evening will take place in cooperation with the Akropolis Underground space, where the afterparty will take place.
