PÚŤOVÁ ATRAKCIA - komentovaná prehliadka

We invite you to a guided tour and dernisage of the PILGRIMAGE ATTRACTION exhibition with authors Pal Hovanac and Peter Barényi!
And maybe there will be a pu(n) no!

,,The common denominator of the works of both authors is the aesthetics of "tinsel" - a visual language of cheap attraction, which, however, carries a critical content. Their work is based on reality and authentic experience. Despite the fact that they work with religious motives, they do not take on their spiritual character. They are fascinated by the external facade - overexposed, unrealistic, often impractical and kitschy. Their work moves on the edge of ironic reflection: the world they create is both funny and touching, cheap and accurate.
The Pilgrimage Attraction exhibition is therefore not just a display of works, but opens up space for humor, criticism and self-irony. It is a pilgrimage - for each of us, but different for each. Thus, the exhibition does not offer spiritual meditation, but a look at the mechanisms of visual culture: how symbols are emptied, how they turn into decorations.''
